Are you caught up?
For years, I stressed to people in my scrapbook classes the importance of being caught up. For years, I stayed caught up with my own albums. Guess what? I’M OVER IT!!
I’m having so much more fun these days than I did back then.
My pages are alive with more of my personality and more of my faith and more of my life.
Why? Because I allow myself more time with each layout.
Before, I powered through the pages just to be able to say they were done. The victory was in the quantity. Now, the victory is in the process. I’ve given myself permission to be behind, and that has been so FREEING. Gone is the stress of scrapbooking, and ALIVE with PASSION is the JOY of scrapbooking!
Go ahead. Give yourself permission to NOT be caught up.
Just scrap in the moment.
Don’t worry.
Don’t sweat it.
Live it.
Photograph it.
Enjoy it.
Scrap it.
Even if it happened yesterday and your album is still stuck in 2003.
LET. IT. GO.
Be free!

hmph! well where was this philosophy of yours when i asked about layouts on ss?
what i asked was do i spend less time on a page and use the oodles of borders i have (3 decofiles full) or do i spend a lot of time on my pages and use the many new papers and embellishments i love?
the concensus was that i was going to use both methods. some of the pix that i didn’t necessarily need to put a lot of heart and soul in i’d use some border sets (or turn some of them into elements)and these would be my *everyday* pages.
the pix or events i wanted to be special or devote time to would be my *gourmet* pages.
i’m not really far behind in my scrapping…i am about in last june (6 months) with my pix and until november there is not a lot of pix. and while i know that all the pix i put in my albums are (should be?) *gourmet*…let’s face it…some of them are *everyday*!

No, but if you weren`t so fun to read I might
get off the computer and scrap….Just kidding.
I do love to read your blogs though. I am getting my room ready so I can find things…if I know where my stuff is I would scrap more.
I am thinking of the gourmet and everyday pages too.

This is definately something I have to learn too - I WAS caught up. Once upon a memory… now I am years behind again and frustrated with it. Me thinks I need to rethink and take more time to just enjoy.
