FREE SCRAPBOOKING STUFF! (maybe. possibly.)

by Stacy Kocur

From 451press.com:

Did the holidays leave you a little light in the wallet? Are you strapped for cash after months of spending? Well - 451 Press is here to help. We are hosting a contest that could have you walking away with $500 in your pocket on February 1st.

451 Press Comment Contest
451 Press has launched several new sites recently and decided the best way to get people to check out the new writers is to host a comment contest. This will benefit all of the writers in our network, as well as the people who participate. We are calling out to anyone and everyone to stop by one of the sites on our network and leave a quality comment. Not a spam comment that simple gets you entered in the contest, but a comment that contributes to the conversation or adds commentary to the article. Every comment made on one of our sites between now and January 31st will be entered in a random drawing for prizes. Every comment you leave will be considered an entry, so there is no limit as long as you leave quality along with quantity.

We offer a wide variety of categories for you to view. We hope that there are several sites here that interest you. We also hope to launch 40 more before the end of the month, so check back regularly to find writers.

Prizes:
We will award six prizes to the six randomly chosen comments from this month. There will be one (1) $500 cash prize and five (5) $100 cash prizes. We will contact the winning commenters using the email address they enter with the comment. Comments made through January 31st will be entered in the contest and the winners will be announced on February 1st.

451 Press writers are not eligible to win this contest.

So. I’m not eligible to win…. BUT… if one of the commenters chosen commented on this blog, I win $100 too! WHEEE! Comment, people! GO GO GO! How cool would it be if you won $500 of scrapbooking spending money??? what would you BUY??

  1. Kris in TX Says:

Oh, man, I know I should slam that into our Emergency Fund, since we are doing the Dave Ramsey thing, but I know what I’d want first: the pink fridge I have coveted for months, for my pink happy room, from Pottery Barn Teens, that Heidi Swapp just posted that SHE got for Christmas (http://www.heidiswapp.typepad.com/). Then the little white desk from Target, for scrapping, to replace my honking 6 ft Sterilite table. Lastly, I’d load up on sock yarn!

  2. Beth Says:

I cannot think of anything I need; I already have too much as it is! I’d ask for a wishlist for Fortress and let Stacy spend it. Seriously!

  3. Diane Says:

I should use it for my emergency fund too, but I am so short on scrapbook supplies! I would get restocked in paper and albums and develop the rest of my film, stock up in tape runners and Sizzix dies and go to town!

  4. Lisa Says:

hmmm…would have to put that towards the Rebel cameral I’m drooling over. Do I need it? No! Do I want it - of course!

Stacey –have wanted to tell you this for a while and now seems like the perfect time - love all you do, especially your blog - and thanks! You never fail to inspire me!

  5. Foleysfriend Says:

I’d love cash … I think that I’d share with some friends. Who knows … paying it forward with RAKs???

  6. Heidi Says:

With $500 I’d buy an ipod for use while I am scrapping. I am seriously coveting them right now. As for SB supplies? Adhesive and pages. Funny how fast they go when you actually USE them!
    ~Heidi

  7. Kendra Says:

This is so cool! I will sign up with Close to my Heart if I win the money! I would also PIF with some RAKs!

  8. Dars Says:

    WoW- What fun!
I am in the middle of outfitting my new scrapbooking space. When did everyting get so expensive?? It would be fun to get one of the new features I wish for and share the rest of the $$ with someone else!

  9. Tonya Says:

I love the idea of giving it to Stacy to spend on the Fortress Group. I could always spend it, but I have so much that I am thankful for already. Besides, I love reading Stacy’s blog everyday even if there is no contest.

  10. Sue Says:

I’d pay some bills but if I could just “spend it” I would get an I-pod, shelves for the basement and a plane ticket to visit my best friend in Florida.

  11. DebbieJinMo Says:

I would buy a die cut machine.

  12. Lisa Says:

I would love to spend it on scrapping supplies! If there is anything I love to buy, it’s scrapbooking supplies. I may possibly be addicted to it! Or maybe I would pay it on a credit card bill. But if I won the money, I think I would donate it to my nephew who has been battling leukemia for the past year. He is actually doing pretty good right now. Thank God!!! But they still have a long road ahead of them. http://www.friendsofjoseph.org

  13. wildflower Says:

    Wow — how cool!!!
I’d hit Ikea, ready to outfit my little scraproom with new tables and extra storage/shelving units!!!
    Oh…to dream!……. :)

  14. Kim Says:

I’d probably buy a ghost writer to update my own blog since I never get around to it :)
Maybe some fibers and inks if I was feeling frivolous.

  15. kimmie Says:

i think i’d get the scrapping cubes that amy is doing in her scraproom…build myself a desk and some boxes for legs and above like jancy’s….and then paint ds’s old room (sigh) and put new hardwood floors in it and make it my room.

  16. Darrcie Says:

Is a laptop considered scrapbooking supplies? That’s what I “need” right now. I won’t ever convert to all digital albums, but one now and then is fun.

  17. toemi Says:

I think I would put it towards that camera I have been drooling over. Regardless, how fun would it be if someone from here won!

    Good luck!
    :)

  18. jenner Says:

I would stock up on pages, albums, and protectors. I have tons of everything else, but am running out of the basics!!! Thanks for the awesome blog Stacy!

  19. Lara Says:

Why not! I had no idea that there were so many other forums. Off to take a look!

  20. Elaine Says:

Hmmm… If I were to win it (since I’m no longer a writer here, I could do that, right?)… I think I’d get a QK Revolution, a couple alphas, and a new digital camera. :)

  21. Veronica Says:

Oh gosh…how would I spend that money?

I am seriously considering getting a Cricut - if I won the money, I would haven’t any excuses :) So I’d get the Cricut and some font cartridges to go with it.

  22. Karen (ksheffer) Says:

Either a Wishblade or a digital SLR camera. Wouldn’t that be nice! One of us HAS to win so Stacy can win too!!!
